Valiants bounce back with perfect Windsor weekend

After some downtime between weekends, the Juel Valiants were eager to get back to the hard court and rebound from a tough trip to Toronto. Using a combination of speed, size and strength, the Valiants went 3-0, beating quality teams in the Northern Lights, Advantage Titans and Oakville Venom. The Valiants get back at it with another weekend in Windsor, April 14 and 15. Sitting with a record of 8-6, the Valiants will look for a strong finish to stay above .500 .

Valiants battle hard in Toronto

Returning to the court after a tough last outing, the competition seemed to pick up where they left off, and the Valiants were stuck wondering why the ball just wouldn't go in the bucket. Holding the North Toronto Huskies to only 47 points, the Valiants couldn't muster enough offence, and dropped the opening competition 47-42. This loss was followed by another tough loss the Brampton Warriors, 66-48. Fortunately, the Valiants rallied from their down swing and beat and always tough Hamilton Transway team 68-59. Not exactly what they were looking for on the weekend, but the win against Transway is a step in the right direction, and the Valiants will gear up for their next weekend of Juel play March 24-25 at the University of Windsor. Hopefully the friendly confines of the st.Denis centre will provide some home court advantage and a few more ticks in the win column.

Valiants come up Short in London

Coming off a high of finishing 3-0 in Oakville, the Valiants were riding a wave off confidence heading into London. Unfortunately they ran into a brick wall of misfortune. Battling hard in their first game, the Valiants fell victim to an overtime loss (71-67) against the gritty Barrie Royals. The Valiants followed that up with a gutsy performance against the unbeaten Ramblers, but London proved to be too much and Windsor dropped their second game of the weekend 54-34. Their last game of the weekend was against a talented Tri-County squad, and the Valiants once again came up short, losing 66-53. An all around disappointing weekend for Valiant fans.
