Valiants roll over the competition in London

Riding a hot streak of 7 wins in their last 9 games, the Major Midget Valiants travelled up the road for the London Ramblers tournament. Although they would be facing some tough competition, the Valiants were more concerned with winning a Friday night game. Having lost the majority of their Friday night games, during the season, the Valiants were determined to get things off to a good start with a solid win. Things would start off well with a friday night win, and the Valiants would steamroll the competition and head into the championship game with a 4-0 record to play against the host London Ramblers.

The game was intense, with fierce competition from both teams. A series of tough calls and unfortunate events found the Valiants down a couple baskets with less than a minute to go. Key steals would lead to a pair of buckets as the Valiants clawed their way back into the game, eventually getting the lead with very little time to go. A clutch basket by the Ramblers sent the game to overtime, but that was when the Valiants took over the game. Taking over for one of two starters sitting on the bench after fouling out in the fourth, Dani Dimu continued her solid 4th quarter play and nailed some long range threes, as the Valiants cruised to the win with an 11-0 run in the extra frame.

Jaylnn Brown took player of the tournament honours for the Valiants, and the team took home their first gold medal and tournament win of the year.
